You can find the print parameters in our webshopon the respective product page. Attention, to view the print parameters you must be logged in to our webshop with your customer account. Some print parameters can also be found collected in PDF-files in our webshop, also here you have to be logged in with your customer account to see them..
What requirements must my product meet for sublimation printing?
You can print anything with sublimation printing as long as it is sufficiently heat resistant and has a polymeric coating, usually that is polyester. To print textiles, we recommend 100% polyester or at least micro-functional fiber.
The most brilliant color results are achieved on white or light surfaces. Printing on colored surfaces is also possible, but certain colors may be barely visible depending on the color of the background. You can print black especially well on fluorescent inks.
What cup coatings are available?
We attach great importance to the fact that our mugs are optimally suited for sublimation printing. That’s why we use 3 different premium coatings here: Sublistar, Black Orca and SubSeek. Each manufacturer offers its own premium coating, which do not have significant differences. How D a particular cup is processed, you can see in the print parameters list.
What is the difference between A, AA and AAA sorting?
All our cups, whether AAA, AA or A are dishwasher safe and have been coated with the high quality Sublistar coating.
The difference between the individual cups is their homogeneous application:
AAA: highest quality grade, no inclusions in the print area. Perfect for premium gift items.
AA: minor inclusions in the surface possible. Super suitable as a gift item refined with photos or sayings.
A: increased smaller inclusions possible in the surface. Suitable as a short-life promotional product.
Can sublimable cups be put in the dishwasher?
Depending on the cup and coating it varies, on the respective store page you can make sure if the cup is dishwasher safe.
What are my printing costs?
The pure printing costs are very low with sublimation and amount to just a few cents for a fully printed DIN A4 sheet. This differs from one printing system to another. To calculate the exact ink costs for your calculation, you can use the ink consumption calculator in the sublisplash driver. This calculates the respective costs or consumption per motif based on your motif and the costs for your inks.
Can I store my sublimation prints?
There are no exact specifications regarding the storage of sublimation prints. We recommend that you do not store sublimation prints longer than necessary. In any case, the prints should be protected from exposure to light, large temperature fluctuations and humidity.
Can I print white with sublimation printing?
Since sublimation uses the four colors CMYK, you cannot print the color white. Places in your design that contain white will be left blank and thus not printed. Therefore, it is advisable to print mainly on white substrates.
Why should I buy cup paper and not cut it myself?
Cup paper not only saves you the hassle of cutting, but also saves you a lot of time. This way you can be sure that your printout is straight and centered on the cup. In particular, our SubliPrime paper jackets our standard cups almost perfectly, saving unnecessary waste. So optimize your workflow and save money at the same time!
Is there anything I need to consider when switching to SubliPrime brand sublimation paper?
When switching from e.g. Texprint paperto Subliprime paper, you do not need to take anything else into account. The driver settings remain the same. In addition to the excellent runnability and the very good ink absorption and ink release, our paper is even easy on your wallet!
Can I not use my sublimation printer for a long time?
Sublimation printers are inkjet printers. To prevent the inks from drying out, you should never leave the printer out of operation for more than 4 weeks. As a rule, the more regularly your printer runs, the less trouble you will have. If you leave the printer for a longer period of time, you can do a nozzle test every 2 weeks to prevent your print heads from drying up. This also allows you to see early on if your printer is running smoothly or if it needs cleaning.
Is sublimation ink UV resistant?
Sublimation printing is not UV-resistant in and of itself, but there are commercially available UV protection treatments that protect your print motif from fading. This is advisable for signs or the like that are exposed to direct sunlight.
Some items are already provided with UV protection by the manufacturer.
For example, our DuraLuxe sheets in gloss, matte and textured finishes.
What is the shelf life of Sublisplash sublimation ink?
Our sublisplash-sublimation ink has a shelf life of at least 6 months after shipping.
What is the PrintSuite?
PrintSuite is a RIP software from CADLink, which is specially adapted to the printing systems we offer. The OKI Edition offers more features than most standard printer drivers or other RIP software solutions.
What is Fluid Mask?
Fluid Mask is a plug-in clipping software. This module provides the possibility in PrintSuiteto quickly and easily remove unwanted backgrounds from images without leaving the application in Printsuite. With a user-friendly interface, Fluid Mask eliminates unwanted image backgrounds quickly and easily thanks to intuitive edge detection software. Thanks to the finest machining tools, the finishing touches can be applied manually. In contrast to other software solutions, here you can check everything again before completing your image to ensure an error-free final result.

Why should I use the grid function?
Thanks to this function, your print motif has a much softer feel and increased wearing comfort, especially with textiles. The washing resistance increases significantly and you can prevent annoying cracks, especially with large-area motifs.. In addition, thanks to a wide variety of screen types, you can create unique motifs with which you can create even more individual print designs.
What is the 2-blade system and what are its advantages?
In the 2-sheet system, the adhesive in the B-paper is much stronger than in the 1-sheet systems. The 2-sheet system is a self-weeding system for transferring multicolored, free-standing motifs onto light to dark textiles and materials, thus eliminating the need for laborious manual weeding. The B-paper (hotmelt adhesive) also has a white mixed in, which results in even better opacity.
How high is the wash resistance of toner transfer motifs?
The washing resistance and recommended washing temperatures of toner transfer prints depend heavily on the transfer paper used in each case. With our 2-sheet Laser-Dark (No-Cut) system and screened motifs, no color loss can be detected at 40°C and 40 washes.
Can elastic leggings be printed?
Elastic textiles should not be printed with the toner transfer process. Toner inks are not elastic, so overstretching the textile would cause the design to tear. For printing on elastic textiles, we recommend the DTF process.
Can I print a pure black with a CMYW color profile?
No, because here, in contrast to 5-color printers with a CMYWK color profile, the black is mixed from cyan, magenta and yellow and thus a rather dark gray is achieved. Which, however, looks like black on most colored backgrounds. Optionally, depending on the printer , you can replace the white cartridge and white image drum with the black cartridge and image drum to get a pure black. This briefly converts a CMYW printer to a CMYK printer, which you can of course undo.
Can the printer dry out if left standing for a long time?
Toner printing does not use liquid inks, so your printer will not dry out as easily as other printing methods. You can safely leave your toner printer for a few months without having to deal with time-consuming and expensive maintenance.
How many transfers can be produced per hour?
With our toner printers you can print about 20 A3 sheets per hour, which corresponds to a printing time of about 3 minutes per piece.
Are there Pantone colors for flex?
We offer you with our best selling series (1000 Premium and 1500 LowTemp) in total 71 Pantone shades.
Can I print on already sublimated textiles with a flex film without further ado?
We do not recommend printing without some precauction, because at over 130 °C pigments from the textile can become active again and migrate into the film. To avoid this, keep the transfer temperature below 130 °C. We offer 3 series suitable for processing such textiles: Nova-Flex 4000 SubliStop, 5000 softshell, 1500 lowTemp.
Which film can be used to process water-repellent surfaces such as rain jackets?
In order to print water-repellent textiles with flex film, in most cases our
Nova Flex Series 3900 Nylon
. Before you print on the textile, however, you should carry out a water test to check whether the textile is at all suitable for being printed with a flex foil. Because some textiles are so heavily impregnated that no printing is possible.
How does a water test work?
The Nova Flex Series 3900 Nylon and Nova Flex Series 5000 Softshell can be used, for example, to print softshell jackets or rain jackets. We recommend performing a water test to check which film is suitable for the material to be processed. To do this, a few drops of water are placed on the textile and observed.
Are flex films on clothing harmful to health?
All our films are STANDARD 100 OEKO-TEX® certified and therefore harmless.
Are there sublimable flex films?
The Nova Flex series 1900, 6000, 6100 and 7010 are sublimatable flex foils with different properties. If you want to learn more about these foils, just have a look at the respective series in our webshop.
Are reflective flex films also available?
Yes, for example, the Nova Flex Series 6400. It is available in 22 colors.
Which plotter knives are available and which angle of the blade is recommended for which application?
We have two types of blades: 45° and 60°. For standard films we recommend a plotter knife with an angle of 45°, for thicker media such as a 3D film, you should use a blade with an angle of 60°.
How to cut a 3D film?
For 3D films, we recommend using a blade with an angle of 60°, reducing the cutting speed and, if necessary, letting the plotter cut the contours in two passes to achieve the cleanest possible contours and cuts. These measures can prevent fraying of the film.
For whom is DTG printing suitable?
DTG printing is equally suitable for newcomers and for already experienced textile finishers. Whether to expand your production with DTG or as a new printing technique to make your portfolio more versatile. DTG printing is also suitable for people who want to make their textile finishing more efficient and develop their business.
Which target groups can be served with DTG printing?
DTG prints are suitable from quantity 1 for many different target groups, such as schools or clubs, local authorities, for events, trade fairs and much more.
Do dark textiles need to be pretreated?
The DTG printing process can show its strengths especially on black and dark surfaces. However, you must pre-treat dark textiles. For dark textiles, a white primer layer is pre-printed. This white ink requires pretreatment to deliver a brilliant end result.
Can the pretreatment on my textile be harmful to my health?
The Pretreatment is completely safe to use, it is just a water-salt mixture that will not harm your health in any way. As soon as you have washed your textile, the salt crystallization dissolves without leaving any residue.
What are the printing costs with the DTG printing process?
Ink costs depend on the actual printing system and the selected print settings and preferences. Just let us advise you – together we will also find the suitable DTF textile direct printing system for you.
Do I need a pretreatment system or can I pretreat shirts manually?
You can pretreat shirts manually, for example with a spray gun. However, the use of the Polyprint PreTreater Pro is particularly recommended for larger runs, as such a system ensures homogeneous application of the PreTreatment and thus enables consistently uniform qualities, even with larger quantities, as well as making fluid consumption more efficient.
What is the best way to maintain my printing system?
DTG direct textile printing systems offered by us are production systems, as a rule, the more often you print, the lower the maintenance of your printing system. To prevent the printhead or other ink-carrying components from drying out, the printing system should be started up at least 2 to 3 times a week.
Can I also make DTF with a DTG printer?
With the printing systems from our offer (TexJet echo², Epson SC-F2100) you can also create DTF transfers without conversion.
What should I consider before buying?
As long as you have a sufficient workload from the printing system, there are other points to consider so that you can enjoy your system for a long time:

Is it possible to purchase an extended warranty for the DTF printing systems?
The printing systems we offer have different warranties.
While the Epson SC-F2100 has an on-site warranty, the TexJet echo² (36-month bring-in warranty) or Busy Bill 2.0, Slim Sarah and Kolibri PLUS printing systems come with a 12-month bring-in warranty.
With the Epson SC-F2100 you can optionally purchase a warranty extension of up to 36 months.
With the Busy Bill 2.0 and Slim Sarah printing systems you can optionally conclude a service and maintenance contract. Unfortunately, we cannot offer warranty extensions or service & maintenance contracts for the TexJet echo² or Kolibri systems.
How much will a DTF printout cost me?
The printing costs vary depending on the ink used and the settings you select. For the printing systems we offer, you will find a calculation of the consumption costs for each printing system in our brochure. This calculation does not include personnel or energy costs – you know your prices better than we do.
What is the Print Suite DTF Edition?
The RIP software PrintSuite is a specially produced RIP software for Print Equipment, powered by CADLink, which is specifically adapted to the printing systems we offer. PrintSuite DTF Edition is available in different editions depending on the printing system. The software includes various presets and settings that simplify transfer creation or production.
The PrintSuite RIP software is compatible with Windows operating systems 8, 10 and 11 – however, the software is not Mac compatible.
How long can I store my printed films/foils?
You can store your pre-produced films for up to 6 months. Analogous to the ink, storage should be at 20-25°C, dark and protected from sunlight.
Can I order printouts (contract printing) from you?
We do not produce print jobs for you, as we are not a service provider and do not want to compete with you or other customers. We would be happy to refer you to one of our customers who has already purchased a DTF printing system from us.
However, if you are interested in purchasing a printing system, we will be happy to produce print samples for you so that you can test them against your requirements.
Is a DTF printing system suitable for me?
In general, you should know that a DTF printing system – regardless of size – is a production system that requires regular production, maintenance and care.
When used properly, a DTF printing system should at best be in use daily, but at least several times a week.
Which DTF printing systems does Print Equipment offer?
We offer a wide range of systems that are suitable for DTF printing. For example, a Kolibri PLUS is suitable for the entry-level sector, while web-fed printing systems such as the Slim Sarah or Busy Bill 2.0 are often preferred in the business and service sector.
Do the devices need to be installed by a technician?
The printing systems should be installed and commissioned by a trained and authorized technician. While installation is only recommended for the Kolibri printing system, it is mandatory for the larger printing systems (TexJet echo², Epson SC-F2100, Slim Sarah and Busy Bill 2.0). The costs for the installation on site can be found in your individual offer.
How maintenance-intensive is a DTF printing system?
Regardless of the printing system, there is a “wake-up” procedure for the daily start of production as well as cleaning after the end of production. The daily cleaning effort here amounts to 5-10 minutes per day. Depending on the printing system, automated maintenance intervals take place.
The cleaning effort (daily, weekly, monthly and yearly) is shown in detail during installation or can be read in the instructions.
What is the shelf life of the inks?
Our DTF inks (C, M, Y, K, LC, LM) generally have a shelf life of 12 months from the date of shipment, white ink has a shelf life of only 6 months from the date of shipment due to the stronger pigmentation. Once opened, these should be used within 3 months to ensure the best possible quality of your prints. Storage should be at 20-25°C, dark and protected from sunlight. The color white should be shaken up several times a week during storage. Inks should generally be shaken up before being filled into the printing system.
Can I replace a printhead on my own?
This depends on your previous knowledge as well as your technical understanding. Printhead replacement on Epson SC-F2100, Slim Sarah and Busy Bill 2.0 printers should be performed by a trained and authorized technician.
