What is UV-DTF? How does sticker production with UV printing work?

Would you like to expand your options with UV print finishing? Then UV-DTF is just right for you. This is a procedure with which the Scratch-resistant and self-adhesive UV stickers can be produced. This means you can also easily finish items that are too bulky, fragile, too large, too heavy or too heat-sensitive for your UV printer (e.g. labeling larger household goods, glass and wooden surfaces, etc.).
This type of finishing is not a direct printing process: The motif is printed on a special transfer foil (A-foil), which is provided with an adhesive layer. A second film (B-film) is used to produce finished stickers from both films (fixed using a warm laminator), which can then be resold as sheets or stuck directly onto a desired item.
And all without a transfer press or other aids! As with UV printing, the UV-DTF process can be used to create color-intensive and detailed stickers with visual and tactile varnish effects.

Different levels possible thanks to paint layers as well as smooth, curved, conical or textured surfaces. Produce customized stickers with vibrant and detailed designs.
No transfer press or special equipment required. All you need is a Mutoh UV printer, UV Magic Film and a cold laminator.
The UV-DTF stickers have high scratch resistance and high UV resistance on hard/rigid surfaces.

A-foil (adhesive layer) and B-foil
Join (“marry”) the two films together at a processing temperature of approx. 30-40 °C.
e.g. kettle, cool box etc.
Use your UV printing system to print the desired motif (with varnish effects if required) on the A-foil (transparent foil with adhesive layer).
Now take the B film (milky-white surface), remove it from the backing material and combine the A and B films. Tip: The two films can be joined better with a squeegee.
Use a hot laminator (at a processing temperature of approx. 30-40 °C) to join (“marry”) the two films together.
The finished UV-DTF sticker is cut from the sheet, the A-foil is peeled off and the self-adhesive part is placed on the article. After transferring to the desired substrate, the B-foil can now be peeled off / removed.
